Each radiation session results in damage to the outer layer of your skin. Therefore, it is important to apply Rad Remedy daily to help support the skin barrier and maintain comfort during treatment. If you wait to start it when your skin is in significant distress, it will help, but you will not obtain the full benefit.

Gentle daily cleansing is an important part of skin care during radiation therapy. It is important, however, that you use a gentle, non-soap cleanser since soaps can be excessively drying and contribute to damaging your skin barrier. Gentle cleansers or cleansing bars, by definition do not have the word “soap” in their name.

Moisturizing the skin is routinely recommended for patients undergoing radiation treatments. The most effective way to use a moisturizer is to apply it to your damp skin within minutes of taking a shower. This “water trapping” practice helps seal moisture into your skin. Rad Remedy contains several excellent moisturizing ingredients.
